The Pittsburgh South Writers Group began with two writers at Bethel Park Library. After chatting about writing and editing, the two strangers agreed on the need for a writers' group based in the south of Pittsburgh.

The two became the founders of a group dedicated to holding meaningful and inspiring discussions on the topic of writing and publishing, with an emphasis on holding a monthly meeting that would serve as a chance for members to critique submitted works.

The PSWG has undergone many changes since then, but it remains a place where passionate writers come together to hone their craft and work with fellow Pittsburgh writers.
